5K race

In May I completed my first 5K race in Frankfort. When I started it I was not sure how well I would do. With being in school over this last year exercise has not be on the front burner for me. So when the race started I put my music on and started walking. I looked up and I saw Jenny in front of me so I decided I better run. You all know that I am super competitive. So through out the rest of the race I walked and then ran when I felt like I could. I completed the race in about 53 min. My mom, sister, grandmother and Aunt. Everyone had fun but I can say that my competitive spirit won out on this one. I was the first one to cross the finish line. This week I will be doing my second 5K this one will also be in Frankfort. Here are some pictures from that day.

28 Bucket List

OK so today is my 28th birthday. Last year I wrote about the things that I have been blessed with in my life. I have not been blogging as much as I would like to. Mostly because I have been so crazy busy with school. At this point I am about halfway to graduation. When I graduate I will have both my teaching certificate and my masters in teaching. Once I have both of those I will be trying to get a job either in Ohio or Kentucky in the elementary grades. When talking to a teacher at the school I am student teaching at she told me about her yearly bucket list of things that she would like to do before her next birthday. She had one thing for each year she was old. After hearing her talk it inspired me to do the same thing. So I will have a 28 bucket list for this year. I will be using my blog to track the completion of the list. The list will not need to be done in the order they are listed but they will only count onces I have put them up on the blog. 2013 Starts off with a Beep!

OK so our 2013 got off with a very loud beep. Late last night/ Early this morning our Carbon Monoxide detector started going off. It was very loud and scared to dog. After getting everyone up. Including my in-laws. They had us come over to their house. We cracked some window in our house and cut off the heat. Jon pack some clothes for him because poor him has to work almost 12 hours today. We loaded us and Itz in the car to go sleep at the other Aydt house. At this point it was about 2:30 in the morning. At this point Jon and Itz went to bed. Tom and I headed back to the house to meet with the gas company so that they could do a check of the house. They finally arrived around 3:30. The check showed that all the levels were in a normal range. This made me feel much better. We finally got back to Tom and Rosana's house around 4:15 ish. I don't think that I was a sleep before about 5:00. But it was sure nice to know that everything was safe at our house. This morning when I finally got up we went to buy a new Carbon detector better safe than sorry. Even though this was a false alarm I will never take this type of alarm lightly. Better to over react then not to react at all. I would like to thank my Husband for getting out of the house with me, my in-laws for helping out so early in the morning. Thanks also to the duke energy guy for making his way to our house and being so nice and helpful.

Four Years

On Thursday Jon and I celebrated four years of marriage.  That night I thought that we might not get to have dinner together because I had class.  It seems as if every year on our anniversery something gets in our way of having a night together.   Most years it has been Jon's job usally training of some sort or another.  How ever it was me this year I had class.  I thought that we would not get to spent time together again.  However when I got home Jon had cooked dinner and had orange roses on the table.  It was so nice  I love that he thinks of the little thing.  It does not seem like we have been married for four years but we have and I can't wait to see what the years to come have instore for us.

The start and end of the first Term

So In the TEAM program the courses are only 6 weeks in the summer and 8 weeks in the school year. So now I have completed my first two classes.  WOW that was a fast two weeks.  I am happy to say I have a 3.0.  Not really what I was hoping for but all I can say is Phonics with DR. Sparks is not easy.  I can say that I am one of the lucky ones that passed.  I have had a week off from school but not work so now I think that I am ready to get back to class.  It was a fun six weeks and I learned a lot.  There are things that I am sad about during this six weeks I have had to make choices to do school work over family things like going out to dinner, seeing Brian and Lilah as much as I want and going to my moms house for expo.  I think this is only the second expo I have missed in my life.  It is only one year is all I keep telling myself.  It will all be worth it in the end when I am doing what I really love to do working with Elementary school kids.  Also during this time I found out where I am going to be student teaching.  I will be in a 1st grade class at River view East Academy.  I am so looking forward to this next year. I will try and keep you all up to date what is going on with schooling.

An Up and Down Roller Coaster

So after we got back from Disney world My life went on a bit of an up and down Roller coaster.  But for this story I have to back up just a bit.  In October I found an education program at Mount St. Joseph.  This program is a one year program at the end I will have me my teaching certificate for Ohio and I will have a masters in education.  I will also be able to get my certificate for Kentucky.  This was very exciting to me I would be able to reach me goal in just one year.  In February I completed the application process for the program.  In March I found out that I would need to take the GRE in order to get in to the program;  I signed up for the GRE.  I was not excited about this part I am not of taking test but I would what ever it took.  Then about a week later I got an e-mail stating that out of Further Review of transcripts and with my 4.0 from St. Catherine in education classes I would not need to take the GRE.  This was very exciting. This was just before we went to Disney world.  I had to set up an interview with the head of the program.  This was scheduled for the day after we got back from Disney World. We got home really late that night or really early in the morning how ever you want to look at it.  I got up early to go to my interview.  When I get to the school I realized that I not gotten the location of the office that I was suppose to go to.  My thoughts OH NO I am not going to get in now.  I went to the information desk to ask the person at the desk if they could help me find it.  The only thing they could do is call his office.  He was not answering.  The person thought that I had the date wrong because the school was closes because it was Good Friday.  So I asked do you know where his office is the answer I got was NO.  Great I thought so I asked do you know were the education office is NO.  Great I thought again.  So I found a campus map I found what Building that the education office was located in.  So I went into the building and started walking the hallways. After about a half hour I found the education office it was locked and the light were off.  So I waited and waited and just about the time of my interview here came the head of the program around the coroner.  That was great I had made it before he did.  We went into his office for the interview.  After about 40 min we were done,  I had to write a response to an article as a writing sample for the program that took about another 30 min.  Now it was just a waiting game.  I was told that I should hear something by the next Thursday or Friday.  So I went home to enjoy my Easter weekend.  This was a great weekend spent with family.  I went a bit crazy again with my camera.  I went to work the next week.  Then Thursday came.  I checked my e-mail as many times as I could through out the day.  Nothing.  I went home so that I could go to a gift gathering party for Rosana's pharmacy.  I had gotten off work a bit early I did my normal things on my way home.  I called my Mother-in-law to figure out what I needed to do once I was ready was she picking me up or was I meeting her there.  I then called my mother to tell her that I had no news and what I was doing for the night.   We got off the phone as I was getting off my exit.  I then called Maria real quick to see what she was waring to the party.  She told me so I got off the phone real quick.  I was driving down the road on my way home I got to about a block away from my house and the traffic was stopped this was a very normal thing to happen on this street.  I was sitting there I had looked down and I am not sure why at this point then I felt a wham and my car went forward and wham again someone had hit me from the back and pushed me into the back of another car.  I froze all I could do is cry.  Once I could talk I asked a by stander to get my phone for me it had been thrown across my car.  I called the one person that I knew could come and help quick.  Thanks Rosana for being their for me.  All I could do is sit there. When the fire men got there they had pull my door open it took two of them to do this.  Rosana got there she took me to the hospital.  We got a hold of Jon and he got off work and meet us at the hospital.  This is not an easy thing to do because he works on the phones so I was doing this through text.  I was not thinking clearly so I was doing my best.  I got to the hospital and they ran x-rays and checked me out.  They did not find anything just bruising on my collar bone. This was good news.   I went home and reseed for the night.  I tried to go to work the next morning they sent me home by 9:00 am.  Jon came and picked me up because me car was at the shop for the insurance to take a look at it.  They had set me up a rental car.  I went and picked up the car and tried to rest for the rest of the day.  I got a call from the insurance company they had decide to total out my car I needed to go out and get my things out of the car and let them turn it over to the junk yard.  I said OK and hung up the phone I cried some more. When I was done I called Rosana to see if she would take me out the car and help me clean it out.  I am glad she went with me because I would not have thought of every thing.  After we got done we went back to her office for a few min.  I decide to check my e-mail.  What do you know there was an e-mail form the Mount.  I had gotten into the program.  If you can guess you probably got it correct I cried again.  I think that this would count as one of the few times I have cried some much in a two day period.  I called everyone that was on my list of people to call when I got the news.  That was so much fun.

Here are pictures of my car an my rental car it was very nice but it was not my car that I had come to love.

Disney 2012

Yep you guessed it.  Jon and I went to Disney World again.  This time it was over spring break and we took Megan and Jake with us this time.  This was the first time for the two of them.  This was fun for myself I hope that everyone had as much fun as I did.  This was the first time for Jon and I drove to Disney World the second time that we have drove to Florida.  I will have to say will never do it in one day again.  I did not think that we were ever going to get out of the car.  Oh and it was the day of the UK vs. UofL so we left at like 3 am so that we could make it to Disney before the game this did not happen so we stopped in Gainsville to watch the game at Ruby Tuesday's  We did live to tell about it.
We made it
We made it
Every time that Jon and I go to Disney we try and stay at a new resort.  This time we stayed at the Animal Kingdom Lodge.  This was a really nice resort and we loved that we were able to see animals it was fun to go look out and see if we could see any different animals.  The resort also had different out looks that we could step out on and try and see different animals.

We made sure that the kids got the full Disney experience.  We tried to get them on most of the rides.  I am very proud to say that they did try most everything.  They may have not wanted to get back on after they got off, but they tried and that is all I could ask for.

The first day we went to Hollywood studios.  We had fun riding the Toy Story Mania Ride.  This was the top request of the Teenagers.  At this point I can not remember who won but I am safe to say it was not me.  We also road the back lot tour where you can sometimes get a little wet.  So I made sure that they were on the side that could get wet.  Megan ended up on the out side and she get a little wet.  But it was all in good fun and she did not stay not mad for long.  At our time at Hollywood studios we took some drawing classes.  We also got to be part of a flash mob that was fun I have not gotten to do that.  We went late one night to see Fantasmic and it was great as I remember it.
Coming into the part for the first time

We ate lots of food over our trip.  We took Megan and Jake to some of favorite restaurants.  If there was steak on  the menu they had steak.  We had fun at 50's Prime Time Cafe trying to get Jon in trouble.  He had to go put his nose against the wall.  That was fun.  We also enjoyed eating in car and with different characters.

Megan did not finish all of her veggies

In one day we took over 25,000 step, we went around the world, saw the past, the future, went into space, became cash dummies, flew over California and Journeyed into our Imagination.  I could only be talking about one place Yep that is Epcot.  The steps were not just in Epcot we did hop between Epcot and Hollywood Studios but it was a packed day.  Some people were running across the park my not me.

We also spent time at the Magic Kingdom and the Animal Kingdom.  There were so many things that we did I think I will just put up some pictures.  I may have gone a bit on the crazy side with photos with my new camera Megan and Jake helped me together we took 1050+ pictures.

Megan also celebrated her birthday the whole week I may have suggested.  But it is fun to have your birthday at Disney even if it is not your birthday and it is just the week.

Birthday Cup Cake
OK so I think that is mostly it.  It was a great week.  Sorry it took so long to get it up but life has been crazy.

Birthday (late but still good)- 27 Blessings

So I know that this post is late but life seems to have away of sneaking up on me and then running away. So I thought that I would just take the time now to sit down and write it.  So it has been about a year since I started this blog and last year on my birthday I wrote about how unhappy with where I was in my life and all the hopes and dreams I had for Jon and my life to be going and how I had to stop dreaming and just start doing.  Well since then a lot has happened and I have tried to keep you all up on everything that has been happening.  So this year for my Birthday I thought that I would so something different.  I thought that I would count my blessing.  Because I turned 27 I thought that I would give you all my top 27.  I am going to stick to things that have happened over the last year.  I know that I have way more that 27 blessings but I thought that it would just be fun to do.  So here we go 27 Blessings late but still good.
  1. Welcoming a new member to our family with the birth of Lilah in July.
  2. Being able to get closer with Brian the week that I sent with him while Lilah and Maria were in the hospital.  I am so thankful that Maria and Shawn allowed me to do that.
  3. Being asked and accepting to be Lilah's Godmother.  That was a big honor for me.
  4. Megan asking me to be her confirmation sponsor.  I love getting to share the special moments in my family's life and the feeling that it gives me to know that they want me to be part of it.
  5. Having parents that will bend over backwards to help Jon and I.  Every time we have needed to move there have been right there to help.  Even if it was just form one building to another building on campus and then about a month later to Northern Kentucky and watching their grand-dog any chance they get.  I don't tell them enough thank you and that I love them.
  6. Having in-laws that will bend over backwards to help Jon and I.  We don't tell them enough how much everything they do is appreciated,  how thankful we are to have them in our lives and that we love them.
  7.  Having an extended family that is always there for us with whatever we need.
  8. Megan and Jake even though they are growing up they don't feel to cool for me.  It will be great to have Jake at NKU next year we may get to spend more time with him.  They also come and help us every time we move.  Even when Jake is giving me a hard time it is great to spend the time with them.  Megan also came up when I had my surgery to hang with me and help it was great to have here there.
  9. Being able to go to Florida in November to be able to share in such a special day for my cousin Sarah and her new husband James as they got married.  It was great to be able to stand up there with her as she got married.
  10. Getting accepted into a great group of friends once we moved up here that Jon already knew thru his sister that we get to meet up with once a month and have a meal with it is so much fun.
  11. We have a wonderful home that we are living in that we are working on making our own and that is so much fun for me.
  12. My Grandparents all three of them are wonderful people they are always there to try and help me all that they can.  I am so thankful for all of the wonderful memories that I have with each one of them.
  13. Knowing that I am loved by a lot of people without them always having to tell me that they love me even though  it is still nice to hear.
  14. I am blessed to have a great do to come home to everyday he might be a little crazy but I love him.
  15. I am blessed to have a great sister that would do anything for me and that I can always count on when I really need her.
  16. I am blessed to have a great sister-in-law that would also do anything for me and that I can always count on.
  17. I have been blessed to find teachers at school that I have become friends with that I can talk with as well as eat lunch with.
  18. To be able to help out my family as much as I want and be there for them as much as I want to be.
  19. That over all I have good health.  There are things that I could be facing but for now I do not have to face them.
  20. Great College Friends that even though I don't get the chance to spend as much time as I would like with I  know I could always call them and they would always be there for me.
  21. That I have so many people in my life that believe in me that I can reach all of the goals and dreams that I have set for myself.
  22. Living close enough to our niece and nephew that we can be involved in their everyday life.
  23. I feel that it is a blessing that at 27 I have figured out what I want to do with the rest of my life and how I plan on getting to the point were I can do what I want to do.
  24. Having our time at St. Catharine College.  It gave us the time to figure out that we really wanted to be around our family.  It also gave me the time to figure out that I really am supposed to be a teacher,  by taking some classes and shadow teaching and loving every minute and doing really well in all of the classes.
  25. Having a Family that has supported Jon and I in our transition from Springfield to Northern Kentucky.
  26. Having a Husband that is so loving and supportive that he followed me to Northern Kentucky so that I could become a teacher and follow my dream.
  27. Having a job teaching.  I love the kids that I get to see every day when I go to work.  There is something special about each one of them and they are teaching me as much as I am teaching them.

Jumping Into the Deep End

There are not many things that scare me but there are a few things that make me nerves or even scare me. In the past week I had to face the two things scare me. I had to face the unknown the unknown of how I would react with the surgery I had on Tuesday. I had to have one of my wisdom tooth taken out. To most people this would not be a big deal, but to me it is because I have never had to be put under for anything. I was not sure how I would react. I came through with out any major problems, I got a little sick that night but I started getting better the next day. The other thing that I faced this week was I sent in my Grad School Application. It is very exciting what Grad School can hold for me and what it can open up for me. It will allow me to be a teacher in an elementary school and reach the goals and dreams I have for myself and my family. However I am scared of the possibility of failing. I have had my application finished for a few weeks now but have just been to scared to send it in, today I took the jump and sent it in. I have to still send in some more documents but I am on my way to hopefully getting into Grad School and I am scared.

The Knee

So work had been going great busy but great until last Thursday. My kids have been learning about their shapes and Fall it is hard to believe that they have been in school for almost two months and it is time to start testing and filling out check list so I and their parents can see how much they have progressed. But now back to the title of the blog. On Thursday I tripped over one of my students and landed on my knee. When I landed I was on a concrete floor. I did not land on the kid and she is OK. That was the good thing. When I landed my knee twisted and my leg went to a dead weight. With time I was able to get myself up off the floor. My class was taken on to lunch with another teacher. I went to the hospital with my Mother-in-Law Rosana. I am so thankful that she was there for me. I was a bit on the hard headed side. I would not tell Jon were I was going because I did not think that he could leave work during Training. I would have called him if something was broken or torn or out of place. I had an OK experience in the E.R. up til the time that they had to wrap my knee. I got called back really quickly, the doctor was in the room when I got there, He felt the sides of my knee no pain there so tendinitis were affected so that was good. He sent me for x-rays. When I was about to leave to have the x-rays done the registration lady came in they were being very efficient which is something that I love. I came back from x-rays and about 15 to 20 min later the doctor came back to tell me that nothing was broken. Another bit of good news. He said that it was a knee sprain. Now I have never heard of someone that had done that but yes I did that to my self. That is me I will always find a new way to hurt my self or get hurt. So this is the point where I got less impressed with the E.R. staff after the doctor left it took 45 min or longer for someone to come in and wrap. It was so long that I had to go pee and I had to call someone to come help me out of the bed not because I could not move my self but because the left the rails up and I could not get them down. So they sent in two male nursers in that was funny to me so I told them that I could not get the rail down so they put it down a pointed me in the direction of the bathroom. Can I say that it is not easy to go pee when you can not bend your knee. So when they finally came in and wrapped my knee I asked about work. They said I could go as long as I did not take the strong pain pills. So the next morning I went back to work that may have been a bad idea. I was hurting by the time I got home. So today I am just trying to rest be cause I want to go to work on Monday it is party day for Halloween and I am so excited about it.

Big event of a week or so ago

It has been a crazy week with so much going on. Last Friday was the last day of the summer program at little red school house. So I started that night to decorate my classroom. I had been working on stuff the whole week thinking that I would not have to be there long. Boy was I wrong. Maria came to help me but she had to leave to go do bath time with the kids but all the help that she gave me was great. When Maria left Rosana stayed to help. I tried my best to not look at the clock but decide we were done for the night when I could not even think any more. When I got to the car it was 2 am no wonder I could not think any more. We went back the next night to get it done and we stayed til 2:30 am but it got done here a some photos from it.

Circle Time Area:

Over all look at my room!

On Tuesday my new group of kids started in m class. It has now been 4 days that I have had them and things are going really well the first day was crazy. After I got off work I really just wanted to go home and cry but I went to sleep. I has gotten better everyday. On Friday the Education Coordinator walked in my classroom and gave me $10 for all of the good work that I am doing. That was really cool I have never really had this happen to me before.

Back to the weekend when I was not at the school working, we still had a lot going on. On Saturday Lilah was baptised at St. Patrick Church with Father Jeff. Jon and Myself got the great honor of being God Parents for Lilah this was really special for me and I am so glad that Maria and Shawn asked us to be her God Parents. I don't have any photos from this but I will at some point.

Then we ended our weekend with the big Birthday party. We had a birthday party at Great American Ball Park for Rosana. It was a surprise and boy was she surprise. It was a great night that ended with some great fireworks. Here are some photos from that.

I got a job with the Little Red School House, this is a preschool where I will be able to be a teacher. This has been a dream of mine to be a teacher. I will start my New Job starts on Thursday, I am both excited and scared to be taking this big step. I know that it will all be ok but it is a big step in our life. We are excited to get to move to Northern Kentucky. I will keep you all updated with all the adventures that we get our selves into.

One Month Ago!!

One month ago we welcomed Lilah into our family. During that time I got to spend time with Brian. I am just now posting about this because life has been a bit on the crazy side but I will update you all on that later. But back to a month ago. Brian and I spet time at the hospital seeing Maria and Lilah, playing, going to the zoo, going to Conney Island, worked on cutting paper and took some naps. Here are some photos from what we did that week. (Sorry for the crazy lay out of the photos Sill have not figured this thing out.)
